Liverpool won on penalties (edit: now with video)

What a match! I had booked a table in the Sports Cafe to watch the game with 6 others. The atmosphere was electric! Great to be able to sit down and have your food and drink brought to you so you can give the game your full attention.
As it was the most watched sports event of the year so far on UK TV and I expect similar for Ireland I obviously don't need to say who won but if you have been living under a rock on the far side of the world somewhere (without internet access) then this is how it went...
An own goal from Jamie Carragher and a close range fumbling led to a goal from Dean Ashton to put West Ham 0-2. Painful. But then Cisse pulled one back to make it 1-2 at half time. Steven Gerrard brought it back to 2-2 after the break but Paul Konchesky's cross slipped into the top right hand corner to put West Ham back in front. West Ham had looked set to win the match, widely acclaimed as the most exciting FA Cup Final in recent years, until Steven Gerrard equalised for Liverpool in the dying minutes of normal time, making the score 3-3.

Neither team scored in extra time, and Liverpool won the penalty shoot-out 3-1. Awesome!

A great win to an excellent season. Should put us in a strong position to tempt some new players in the summer. Fingers crossed.
